I Love YouTube

I love YouTube and I’ll tell you why…YouTube is like a trip down memory lane. Anytime you are feeling nostalgic you can hope on YouTube and find moments from your childhood. Right now I am watching Fantasia kick ass on American Idol and smiling from ear to ear. Earlier this morning I was driving around in my squad car and I just started singing Tina Turner’s Fool in Love and so I head to the station to see if I could find it on YouTube and there it was. Then of course I had to listen to Nutbush. Other people started coming around and somehow we got to talking about the Jackson and then we had to look up Say, Say, Say by Michael Jackson and Paul McCarty. Then we went to 3T, who I had never heard of (Tito Jackson’s kids). Then we did Reva Jackson’s Centipede and on to LaToya Jackson’s Hearts Don’t Lie. So funny.
We even did Janet Jackson’s What Have You Done for Me Lately, because I wanted them to see the guy in the video who had the sex change operation.

Sometime I get lost in Youtube, because you listen to one thing and then the related videos come up and you are like, damn, I wanna see that in a while. I can’t tell you how many classic Sesame Street and Electric Company episodes I have watched on this damn thing. And don’t even get me started on the Little Rascals or Little Audrey. The list goes on and on. Take for instance, as I type this I did not realize that Fantasia received an NAACP Image Award. Nor did I know that Barack was sitting in the front row as she song I Believe (I think he might ask her to sing this has inauguration ball. How fitting would that be?)

A friend of mind was telling me the other day that the people who bought YouTube was second guessing their purchase of the website because it was not making as much money as they had hoped. How sad that it all comes down to the all mighty dollar. Hell, you would think that just being able to make me happy would be priceless!

I’m gonna leave you with some of my favorite moments. What are yours?

-One Man’s Opinion. Peace.

It's fun to be silly.

i have also found old stuff that i love on youtube. plus i have found new things that i did not know exist. for example, a few years back i heard about parkour. i did not know anything about it so i go on youtube and i see various videos for it. come to find out parkour is all the running and jumping around those guys were doing in those old nike presto commercials.

youtube is a gateway to the past.

Youtube is a gift and a curse. I find things that make me laugh and smile and then I find things that make me shake my head.

I totally agree with you, Southern Gal. There are some sick things on YouTube as well. I try to focus on the good stuff.

For the record I loved Electric Co. and if today's kids had shows like that they could probably read, write, and understand English!
Have a great weekend!

By the way, why don't you join Old School Friday??

There isn't too much that I have searched YouTube for that hasn't been found. It has everything. I too know the feeling of clicking onto YouTube and looking for and watching one thing then being moved to watch something else and something else and something else.

I absolutely love YouTube too One Man. I find myself posting a lot of music vidoes and clips from YouTube. One of my favorite YouTube moments was watching one of T.O's gym workout session talk about smokin' lol

Also YouTube have a lot of old talk shows like Donohue and the State of the Black Union. Gotta love Madlock and Shirley Tempel. And anybody could put their FREEDOM OF SPEECH to the test which is cool and not so kool. However, at least you get a message out the masses and have doing it too!

you can find just about anything on youtube. that very fact also makes it both a blessing a curse. :-)

hmmm... what are my favorites. before it was taken down, i watched Katt Williams' Pimp Chronicles--- hilarious! also, my boyfriend has a channel that shows him covering diff. songs. so, when i get to missing his voice, i watch the channel. i know... it's sappy. but, true!

Man, I spend entire Friday nights on you tube some time. I once stumbled up on a 5 part New Edition interview, it was good.

Mostly, I look for comedy and spoken word.

Hello OM,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdUdlR7XfAw&NR=1

It is the dancing mouse singing "I Believe In Miracles". When I first showed it to my grandson, he had this love hate realationship to it. He would look at it from the other side of the room. Yet he would ask to see it again and again.

The look on his face was too, precious for words. ENJOY

Peace
