Maid to Order

I did. I actually did it. I can’t believe that I did it and I hope I don’t regret it. We’ll know by tomorrow, the day before Thanksgiving.

Sunday, I went out on a blind date. I don’t want to talk about it. However, while en route to said date I saw this chick driving a car advertising a maid service. I immediately took out my cell phone and dialed the number on the side of the car. Of course the place was closed so I left a detailed message. Well, someone called me back today. Actually she called my ass back several times. I missed the first four calls because I was sleep. And you know why I was sleep? Because I woke up at seven in the morning with my mind set on cleaning my house from top to bottom. Yeah, it didn’t work out that way. What I ended up doing was eating a bowl of cereal and taking my happy ass back to sleep.

Anyway, it was the fifth call that I decided to wake up for and the lady was very nice. She asked me what kind of cleaning I was looking for and went on to describe the two packages. I took the second one for $97.37. With that package they clean the house, cobwebs, oven , icebox, laundry, floors, windows, toilets, sinks, dishes, I think they will even wipe my ass, but I neglected to ass. I get all that for two hours, twenty five dollars for each additional hour. Now, since I am an Oscar Madison type I tried to warn the woman that she didn’t know what she was getting her maids into, but she said they were use to cleaning bachelor pads. Whatever. I’m going to let them take a stab out of it and then make a decision if I am going to continue to use them on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. I’m thinking monthly.

So, what do you think? Does that sound like a good price? I’ve never had a maid before. I always clean my own house. You know….sometimes. Of course a bi-yearly cleaning is never a good thing. Oh, oh, and did I say that they supply all of the cleaning materials? Cause they do!
Oh, well, now that I don’t have a house to worry about, I think I’m going to go outside and clean my car. I lost my damn check book, which you would think would be hard to do when you consider it is the size of a three ring binder, and I think it is in my car someone. Yeah, my car is mess as well. I need to work on my cleaning skills.

-One Man's Opinion. Peace.

Oh, and before I go, on last question. Are you suppose to tip a maid? This is my first time, so I don't know. I know you tip a prostitute, if she does a good job, but maids are providing a whole other type of service.

I have thought about getting a damn maid, my apt is crazy big and I cringe every time I think about mopping 7 rooms *cringe*

if they do a good job, i think a tip would be nice :)

You shouldn't tip a maid. You dont tip your tailor or your butcher. Their cost includes their pay. Its not like a waiter, they make peanuts and thus deserves a tip.

I disagree with Peyso ... I think you should tip. If you consider that for three hours you pay $175, what do you think these maidS are making an hour? They're not rich.

But why don't you call that lady back and ask her, before the maids get there, if they allow their maids to accept gratuities. Then problem solved.

Since you mention that they don't know what they're getting themselves into ... and you mention "bachelor pad," GREAT PRICE!

And it includes the OVEN!? Oh, yuh - it's worth it.

But wait ... you use the oven?

Why do you know you should tip prostitutes????????????????

Huh?

Answer me!

Lol.

Tell me how that works out. I could never get with some stranger cleaning up my spot.

You should take before & after pics, lol.

lmao @ tipping prostitutes. I've never used a maid or a hoe so I'm no good with tips.

I need a maid. Let me borrow $95 and $25 each additional hour. Thanks!

Well, you're a big baller and a shot caller - you can afford this. People like me can't. So I say if you can afford it, then yo - make it happen.

About the tipping...I think you are supposed to tip them. I think?

How you gonna mention the blind date and not talk about it?

I don't have extra money for a maid so I don't know if that's a good price or not. Can I borrow $97.37? Don't know about the tipping either. I probably wouldn't tip. I don't tip the maids at the hotels.

I think that's and excellent price for all the maid will be doing. How, how are they going to do it in 2 hours? One load of laundry will at least take 2 hours if you count the time to dry.

Hmmm, if she brings a large crew, then you know that their each making pennies. I'd say sure, tip. As long as they know it's because of the excellent work they do, and to not expect a tip every month.

You're supposed to tip prostitutes? I'm not even going to ask how you know since you may have found out legitimately. But shouldn't a living wage be already included in the charge for a service?

Are you suppose to tip a maid?

I'm going to need you to go ahead and tell us about that blind date!

Um, did you find your check book or did it go missing with the theif who stole your tabs?

If you can pay for it might as well tip, unless this is going to be a regular thing than just holiday bonus would do.

Yeah, I think that little bitch stole my check book too, which really pisses me off. I am going to have to hold off until I get this house cleaned, top to bottom before I go off on that one. I did call my Credit Union to make sure that no checks have been going through, but I still think that bitch stole it. If I find it in the house I will apologize later.

Yes, I know bitch is not a nice word, but trust me...it fits.

NO you don't tip a maid service.
That is very expensive.

It's better to hire an indiviual than to hire a service which charge more than double.

You should be able to get a maid for $10-$15- an hour.

It's better to have 1-2 hrs wkly who keeps the place up to spec than monthly where they are tackling too much at once and have to forego the other things.

In 2 hrs. for a 3 bd. house w 2 bthroms they should be able to dust, vacuum, change sheets on all beds, clean to a shine both bathrooms, kitchen , wash floors and take out trash.

Hire a middle aged woman from the paper who has good references and insurance should she break anything.
Spend $30 and take conract to a lawyer before signing.

You have to think of who pays if someone injures themselves'at work' in your home, if you will be reimbursed for theft/damage.

I HAD NO IDEA YOU TIP A PROSTITUTE.

I LOVE THE INTERNETS.

I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD TIP A MAID. HOWEVER, IF YOU USE HER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR YOU SHOULD GIVE HER A TIP OR BETTER A GIFT DURING THE HOLIDAYS. EVEN THEN I WOULD GIVE A GIFT CARD TO THE MOVIES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE A FAMILY, ETC..

LOL @ the bitch stealing your check book... you gonna cut someone?

And um... I never knew you tip prostitutues... is this written somewhere or just common knowledge?
